What kind of music do I want for my Special Day?
It's important that the music not only appeals to all ages it should also match the type of function. Our D J's can provide a wide variety of styles to suit your needs. Classical, Ballroom, Country & Western/Rock, 50s,60s,70s,80s,90s through to the current music of today.
Will the D J take requests?
Yes, we encourage your requests; they assist us to provide you with the right music for your needs. Your special songs i.e. Bridal Waltz's are arranged with you prior to your function. We can also provide you with a song list to help you make specific choices or you can make your own list. You can also supply some of your own music if you wish.
How soon should I book my entertainment?
Quality D Js are usually booked well ahead. Although we are busy all year round, November through to the end of May are the most sought after months for functions. For weddings or any type of function it is recommended that you book at least 6mths ahead or as soon as you have decided on which D J is right for you.
Should I see the D J perform?
Unless you have been a guest at a previous function and seen our D Js perform, unfortunately a private function is exactly that a private function. It would be unfair to the people already enjoying the entertainment to have prospective clients come and view the D J at work, however we are happy to provide you with referrals from previous clients and current permanent venues who are happy to provide references.
Can the D J M.C. our function?
Yes, your D J is trained to be your Master of Ceremonies. It is an important role and they are well versed with the formalities of weddings and other functions.
What will the D J wear?
This will depend on the type of function and your requirements.
Black tie / suit is standard for weddings and corporate dinners, while engagements and birthdays are more suited to lounge suit/collar and tie or at your request, neat casual. If fancy dress/ theme nights are your choice, we are happy to blend in with your requirements. Whatever the function your D J will present himself professionally at all times. How often will the D J take a break?
Unlike bands D Js do not really take breaks. Most functions consist of background music during pre-dinner drinks and while your guests dine, followed by more upbeat dance music after formalities have been completed, or at your request.
Do I have to supply the D J with a meal?
No, you don't have to, but because our D Js leave home well before meal times to be set up and ready to start as soon as your guests arrive and remain throughout the evening, they will always appreciate a meal.
Will the sound/ lighting system suit my needs?
Over the last 26 years our D Js have entertained people in most of the hotels and reception venues in and around Melbourne. When you confirm your venue and approximate number of guests we will provide the right sound/ lighting system to suit your needs and the venue. If by chance we have not been at the venue of your choice, a representative will visit the venue before your Special Day to ensure we provide the right sound/ lighting system for your needs.
*Additional HI-TECH lighting can be provided upon requested and is subject to additional charges. (P.O.A.)
Should I pay a deposit, is it refundable and what about overtime?
A deposit is recommended. It is the best way to secure your entertainment for the date you have chosen. Without a deposit you have no protection. *Deposits are refundable less a service fee. *No refund will be given for cancellations within the specified time on the confirmation form of the function date unless we can re-book the date. Overtime is charged per ˝hr and is payable at the commencement of the overtime period. (*Cancellation fees apply see terms & Conditions on booking confirmation form.)
