Costa del Disco is a company dedicated to bringing the great sounds of the 70s and 80s to the coasts of Spain.

From private party styled 'Boogie Nights' to full concerts, we are dedicated to provide the very best 70s 80s entertainment possible.

We are called ‘Costa del Disco’ because the founders are based near Marbella on the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain, and that is where we put on Spectacular Disco Nights with music from Gloria Gaynor, Chic, Sister Sledge, Kool and the Gang, Chic, KC and the Sunshine Band, Bananarama, Jocelyn Brown, Imagination, Boney M, The Real Thing and many more.

DJ Martyn Wood, 'BIG M'.
Martyn was a professional DJ for 10 years before coming to the Costa del Sol to build a Discotheque in the Hotel Stella Polaris in 1982. In the four years before coming to Spain he was one of two DJ’s in the UK demonstrating the art of ‘Mixing’ for the American company GLI, who were considered to be the manufacturers of the best Disco sound equipment of its time.

At the same time he was running BIGM Promotions, organising weekly concerts in the Bradford/Leeds area.

Since 1992 Martyn has been working in TV, Radio and corporate video production, and has been head of video production for “The Wow Factor”, Spain's version of the X-Factor.

Mike Gaunt; 'MIKE G'
Mike was ‘discovered’ by Martyn back in 1981 as a ‘wannabe’ DJ, and after some intensive training went on to take over venues from Martyn when he moved to Spain. It was during a conversation with Mike that Martyn realized that there was a great potential for promoting “Revival Disco” events on the coasts of Spain during the summer months. Mike organizational skills will be essential in co-coordinating the many Disco events, as well as joining Martyn on stage to show that the oldies still have it!!

Nessie Wood, Smithwood Productions - Nessie has worked alongside Martyn on all productions and is an essential part of any project. Nessie is responsible for the website as well as graphic design of the posters, leaflets, tickets and passes. Her ‘People skills’ will be particularly useful in dealing with the agents, managers and artists for the concerts.
